Aug. 22nd, 2008 09:42 pmThis morning, on my way to the bus stop, I happened to glance east. Picture this: a sky dark with low and thick clouds, stretching towards the east but just high enough so that the tips of the mountains touched the clouds, instead of being enshrouded like normal. And behind the mountains the sky is colored by the rising sun, so that it looks like someone cut the shapes of the mountains out of orangish-yellow construction paper.
I really wish I'd had my camera.
Work has sped up a little. I'm now spending less than half my time playing with post-it notes. In fact, I ended this week with overtime because I skipped my lunch on Wednesday due to the massive influx of files we had to deal with. Srsly. The day before, I processed three, maybe four files. On Wednesday I had done fourteen by two o'clock. Very stressful. Plus it didn't help that because I've only been there for about a week I kept making mistakes. Stupid mistakes, too, because I was trying to get through all the files. It was dumb.
But now it's the weekend and tomorrow we're going hiking and hopefully we'll finally get a couch. Plus, I've been wandering downtown on my lunch breaks and it's been fantastic. I like cities. Seattle's not even a very large city, but it's so much, still.
And in the evenings, I get to see the mountains again on my trip home. ^-^
...plus it's 63 degrees outside...
