Thoughts on a Lunch Break, XI
May. 22nd, 2013 12:19 pm- Having an hour or two less sleep a night is catching up to me, quick. I am so, overall tired and I can't stop yawning. That scary couch in the back of the basement almost snagged my lunch break. But I will persevere!
- England and Hadrian's Wall is like, less than three weeks away. I'm not in the excited phase yet. I'm in the OMGIT'STOOSOON phase. Probably because I don't really have time to think about it.
- We're going to be fine. It's going to be fine. At least they speak English over there, so it's not like I have to worry about making sure we're understood. Plus I've done this before. Plus public transportation is amazing. Plus SCONES. Plus TEA. Plus MILCHREIS.
- Eating 140g of protein while keeping carbs and fat (relatively) low is HARD. After a while, all you have in your mouth is this dull, dense proteiny taste. Bah. The coaches said the ratios would shift as we progressed and I'm holding out hope that we'll get to have more fat soon. One can only eat so much chicken breast and 0% fat greek yogurt before one snaps.
- I'm still squeezing writing into the corners of my day. Somehow. Just not very effectively. You'd think that after complaining about not having enough time, the last thing I'd do is sign up for a 3x week class, right? Aaaah... nope.
- Lady passed her written portion of her comps! I so happy. I wish we could celebrate properly, but champagne would put us way over on carbs. Might make an exception for when she beats the oral portion. >>
- Work is still terrible, but having some lights above my desk has at least cured the random crying bouts. An appraiser position just opened up and I am eying it. It's personal property, though, so I'm not sure if that's a good idea, since I believe that department is made entirely of smoke and mirrors. :/
- I can't wait to sleep tonight... omg...
