Our plane was an hour delayed in arriving in Seattle on (barely) Tuesday night. We ended up with about 3-ish hours of sleep, hence the dearth of updates.

It was quite possibly one of the more relaxing trips/weekends/vacations I've had in a while. We got to MN around 2pm in the afternoon, then - after stopping for delicious ice cream - wandered around the Como Conservatory for a bit until the hot, hot sun got to us. I'm so spoiled here in the Pacific NW - we get to enjoy 50 and 60-degree weather while the rest of the continent boils in the 80s and 90s. I think I even got a bit of heat stroke, being all headachey and tired well into Sunday.

We mostly talked and sat and lolled on couches. We had brunch on Sunday with Lady's dad, sister, and brother-in-law. Crepes and strawberries and raspberries - that's the table layout in the photo up top. We also stopped by Caribou for the first time of many that weekend and the barista even drew a pink turtle on my turtle. :D That only added to the mouthful of deliciousness.

Inbetween eating and familying, we managed to drop by and see Ana, Robert, and Cameron. There was food and smittening and they even indulged my need to find a dress. And I found one! We saw them again on Tuesday, before the airport. Got to wander the vast expanses of the Mall of America, which I am sure I didn't even begin to see in it's entirety. Much classier than I'd originally pictured, at least.

Aaand... there was a picnic on Memorial Day, and a cave-tour, and grilled food, and much talking about cameras and photographers and contracts and basic business law with Lady's sister. She recently picked up a dSLR herself and I think we might have bored the rest of the family with our constant chatter filled with camera jargon. She has also recently started a blog (Working Small), so it was neat picking her brain about that as well. It's like having an actual sister, but without all the awkward teenage years and bickering. :D

Anyway, it was mostly relaxing and talking and seeing friends. And photos!

Koi at the Como Conservatory. One kept nomming on the surface of the water and both I and Lady's dad kept trying to get photos of the nom.

Love for the dog from everyone!

Everyone gathered around the laptop watching this.
