In which our heroine bravely works at home, fearlessly feeds cats, heroically goes for a walk, and overall has a normal, uneventful, last Monday at work pre-Lady Jr.

Mornin' - well, not quite. Just one of 100 times I woke up in the middle of the night.

Hand out a no-bowl while I'm up. Go back to sleep.

Mornin'.

So hungry. Have a snack of gelatin.

Dishes: before.

Breakfast: before.

A wild Lady appears!

I give her the 39 weeks update courtesy the Ovia app (tres accurate). Lady Jr is the size of a pumpkin/housecat and her hand is thiiiis big.

Dishes: after.

Breakfast: during.

Lunch: packed up.

Lady Sr takes a pic of Lady Jr.

Cutie :)

Time to go.

Lovely misty/foggy morning.

Drop by our potential daycare to make it our daycare - aka waitlisted!!

Back on the road and time check.

Not pictured: Dropping Dr Lady off.

Pictured: arriving home.

Cats are furious I didn't feed them before leaving. I fill up their no-bowls quick and try my best to hide them while being hounded by hungry felines.

We funded the Kickstarter for this waaay back in February, thinking these would help when cats get less attention because of baby. We finally received them in August and idk if we'll have enough transition time. Cats are supposed to find the little mice throughout the day, but ours keep going until they've found all of them. Problem with a smaller house, I guess? I still like them because the cats don't gorge themselves anymore, but it's a whole lot more hands-on than we'd hoped.

Very cleverly hidden.

Still takes Kona a while to find it.

I take my vitamins. Only two these days! Yay!

Cats enjoy their view.

I put on shoes and head out for a morning walk.

Still pretty green here.

Obligatory bump shot.

Rained a lot so the river is high. I'm still surprised to see water in a river. :)

I find a speck of fall and CAPTURE IT

It doesn't hurt as much to walk today, so I make it all the way to the lake. Worth it.

Finally spot a pumpkin spice squirrel while I have camera in hand on the way back. They're so orange! The photo doesn't quite do it justice.

Now that's the fall color I'm talking about.

Kitty greets me from the window when I get back home.

Aaand immediately to work, because whoops I didn't end up walking longer than I should have.

Dried dates for another snack.

Some tea.

Kitties join me in the office.

Offload some photos so I can write my weekly update.

Have some lunch.

Switch to my standing desk for a little while.

For break time, I lie down to make my headache go away and end up taking a nap. :( Sad face because I had planned to go for a walk and/or lift and/or clean the kitchen and/or 100 other productive things.

Time check.

I try to work for a little bit, but then the sun comes out and I'm like, fuck this - I'm going outside. So I mow the lawn.

Back to work for real. It's been a slow day because we're all hung over from getting some projects out the door last week, so I check FB way more than I should.

Since I have the car, I get to take another break and go pick up Lady.

We live in Michigan. Of course we double-filter our water. :/

Back to work. This time with company!

Oooh, lookit the time.

Lady makes dinner while I was finishing up work. Tonight: roast duck & veggies & quinoa.

After dinner, we head out because I'm tired of being at home all day and also we have some last-minute things to stock up on for Lady Jr's imminent arrival.

Yaaas.

Home again, car back into the garage for the night. Trying to get into the habit before the frost and ice and snow.

Unpack. Now we have enough soap and coffee filters and toilet paper to last us the next two months. Probably.

Cuddle up with a book and some oreos.

And don't forget to feed the sharks cats.

At least the day and time are correct. :/
G'night!

OMG where have those no-bowls been all my (cats') life?

I know right?? I really wish they'd been available sooner, because they're very promising. Also because our old apartment could be more readily split in half for optimal hunting so a certain cat wouldn't keep stealing the other cat's nobowls. Oh well. I just have to supervise them way more.

How do your cats like it? I would love to do something like that with them, but I am afraid they're too lazy.

The Ovia app sounds amazing. I love the handprint touch.
