I have three hours in the Chicago airport in which I need to try and not worry about how I'm going to get home. Lady is off to CO for a conference and her bag has all the keys in it because of COURSE I made sure I had all my chargers and clothes and toothbrush and completely forgot to grab the house keys. Thankfully, we have a friend watching the cats who has another pair of our keys, so it's not dire, I just feel incredibly stupid.

Also tired. I've been up since 12am my time and we were out late late late partying at the wedding, so my head is fuzzy and my body is gross.

Meme-time, because there's a lot of time, and I *could* read but honestly brain no work.

"Tell us about your SENIOR year of high school! The longer ago it was, the more fun the answers will be!!"

The year was: 2003-2004
1. Did you know your spouse?
No.

2. Did you car pool to school?
Not by senior year. Got the car all to myself.

3. What kind of car did you have?
The most delightful Saturn. It had neither power windows nor power locks nor power steering, but it had the best a/c and a tape deck and was manual and so much character. I named it Tim, and Tim had amazing gas mileage and an ability to terrify my friends (certainly wasn't my driving ability, no). By the time Tim was handed down to me, he'd survived an ant infestation and sitting half-submerged in salt water for several months (long story). He smelled like dead fish and the back window leaked enough that we had a Lake Tim, but I will always remember that car with great fondness.

4. What kind of car do you have now?
A brand new Subaru Crosstrek, which is quite a bit more reliable but also a lot less charming.

5. It's Friday night...where were you?
HAhahaha... either playing with building websites, writing, or (very rarely) out with friends.

6. What kind of job did you have in high school?
I only volunteered in high school. Did a stint with city hall, which primarily consisted of removing the used stamps from incoming mail (don't ask: I still have no idea why).

7. What kind of job do you have now?
I work at a PR company designing and creating web-trainings and providing customer support therefore.

8. Were you a party animal?
Not even slightly.

9. Were you a cheerleader?
Nope.

10. Were you considered a jock?
Nope. The only sportsing I did was senior year, when I joined the cross country team on a lark. I was the slowest and the fattest, but I completed all my races.

11. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
Not senior year. I'd been in choir, but I had to make up a lot of classes for doing an exchange year my junior year.

13. Did you get suspended or expelled?
Nope.

14. Can you sing the fight song?
Yeah no.

15. Who was/were your favorite high school teacher?
Ever? Or senior year? Ever: Mr Robie, my latin teacher. Senior year: Frau Koons, my German teacher. I'd been in her classes for five years by that point, so we had a... rapport, if you will.

16. Where did you sit for lunch?
With some exchange students and their friends.

17. What was your school's full name?
Winter Springs High School

18. What was your school mascot?
Bear? I think?? Idk whatever it was was super unimaginative.

19. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
Fuuuuck I'd never go back to high school, even if I could do a few things differently. What happened, happened, and it was largely because of the mistakes I made then that I was able to learn and grow into the person I am now.

20. Did you have fun at Prom?
Yeah? Yeah.

21. Do you still talk to the person you went to Prom with?
I went with a group of friends, which was great. It was one of the few times I felt included that year.

22. Are you planning on going to your next reunion?
Meh? I was kind of half interested in going to the last one (10 years), but didn't want to shell out the cash to fly back across the country. If I happen to be nearby for the next one, I might go out of morbid curiosity, but honestly I couldn't get out of my hometown fast enough.

23. Are you still in contact with people from school?
I've kept up with one good friend and we've attended each other's weddings and managed to see each other despite the vast distances involved. Everyone else is a facebook friend, i.e. I kinda know where they are, what they're up to, but that's about it. If not for FB, I wouldn't know anything about anyone.

24. What are/were your school's colors?
Purple and gold.

I'm not sure if it's the area I live in, but one of the questions people seem to ask first is "where did you go to high school?" like high school tells you so much about a person 10+ years later...

Good luck with your traveling!
