Houses??

I'd hoped house hunting would be more clear cut. That we'd see the perfect one and just be good to go. But instead we've got

1) One which is perfect except it's smaller than our current apartment and LITERALLY backs up to railroad tracks.

2) One which looks perfect on paper - good area, great yard, new roof - but still needs some cosmetic work.

and 3) One which is perfectly okay and in a good spot but feels like your grandmother's house.

Gah.

We might see some more houses tomorrow, but this feels pretty close to it. There will be compromise and concessions no matter what, it just looks like it'll come down to: easier to sell later or easier for us to move into right away. :(

Huh - I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Between that and sleeping on it and discussing it and looking at crime maps, I think we're going to nix the railroad one.
