Anyone who doesn't want to read about TTC or pregnancy-related stuff, please feel free to skip this post. I've been there. <3

Sorry to blindside ya'll in the DITL post. I was blindsided, too! Absolutely unexpected, especially after two years of TTC and negative tests. I still don't quite believe it, but the tests keep coming back darker.

Evidence behind cut:

january-72

It's still really early and I'm still afraid that this is all going to evaporate or turn into a dream, but I'm trying to remain hopeful. Throughout the TTC process, the odds are against you to get to this point, so it's hard to remember that once you're here, it's more likely you'll stay.

That said, I will breathe a sigh of relief when we do the blood test next week, and then another sigh when we hit six weeks, and then the biggest sighs at eight and twelve. The risk of miscarriage goes down dramatically at 12, so that's probably when we'll make this public. I say. On my public LiveJournal. But you know. :)

I will definitely be holding my breath for a while because TTC makes you aware of every single thing that could go wrong and Murphy's Law has not been kind to us. But this cycle has seemed charmed from the start, so I'm also holding out hope.

Thank you for your kind words and congratulations yesterday <3

It was the best kind of blindsiding! It was totally awesome going into the post unaware  and then...bam! :D

I think all parents stress a lot until the pregnancy hits thr 12 week mark, but I understand you're more anxious than most, given the circumstances. I'll be keeping you guys in my thoughts a lot.

HURRAY! Oh, I am so so happy for you both- I know it's been a long and not-easy road. Trying to get pregnant is super stressful and uncontrollable in so many ways!

Have you told anyone yet? Be happy and enjoy! Try not to worry too terribly much. (Hard to do, believe me - I know!) Be good to yourself, too.

Put some crackers on your bedside table and get yourself in the habit of nibbling one before you even get out of bed ;)

I'm SO HAPPY for you guys! Congratulations!!!

My husband and I dealt with infertility and losses for four years before we had our sweet daughter. I've been following your LJ, checking back periodically hoping that you'd have a successful cycle! I'm so excited that it's happened for you :)

I know how scary the first trimester is, but try to stay positive and know that the odds of everything going well are actually on your side. Take care!
