Christmas is Coming
Nov. 17th, 2015 05:43 am...but I haven't heard a single Christmas song yet and bless the world for that. Is it just me or has retail calmed the fuck down this year vs years past? I remember them pulling down Halloween decor on Halloween last year, yet this year I still see autumn stuff and even a few "Happy Thanksgiving"s! It's made me hate Christmas way less, and I just found myself voluntarily looking at decor ideas.
We're doing Christmas small and at home this year, which means we get to actually do Solstice. :) That could be the other reason why I'm excited. The days keep getting shorter and shorter and shorter and in just a few more weeks (five!) that will stop and the days will start to come back. So I need some extra lights and candles and cheer because right now it sucks to go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. x.x
It's also cold, like winter cold. We hit freezing last night (right now) and that usually doesn't happen before mid-December. Granted, our weather has been aaaalll over the place. Low of 35 one morning, with a high of 80 same day. So I'll start out with long sleeves, scarf, and wool jacket, only to end up with short sleeves and a skirt. What're you doing, desert. What are you doing.
Aside from weather and holidays, things here are quiet. Honestly, too quiet. My PCOS is acting up and I've been low-carbing and religiously taking my met and exercising to combat it, but I seriously think that sometimes there's just nothing I can do. It makes me worry about our drug-attempts in January, because to get to that starting point, my PCOS has to play along. If it doesn't, then we're just shit out of luck. I'm trying not to worry, but it's hard. All I can really do is stick to low carb and take care of myself, though. :\
tl;dr: not having Christmas shoved down my throat = suddenly more okay with Christmas; it's really cold; PCOS sucks
