Mornin'

Start coffee.

Open window.

Get out the yeast-y starter.

Remember to have some coffee first.

Add some more flour to the starter.

Double-check the recipe and stir.

Stir stir stir.

Done. Now that gets to rise again. It'll (hopefully) be ready to actually form into rolls tonight.

Offload photos because I have not one, but two photo projects going on right now.

Use the stirring photo for both.

A wild lady appears!

Make breakfast.

Lady tries to give this cat all the attention, but all the attention is NOT enough.

Put together lunch. Ham & cheese & butter, because where I'm going, there ain't no microwave.

Breakfast! Related to the no microwave thing, I have to actually eat breakfast before leaving the house, which is weird and confuses the heck out of my poor stomach. I've been intermittent fasting for so many weeks that I've forgotten what it's like to eat first thing.

While trying to brush teeth/get ready, we discover there is a cat-infestation in the shower.

Feed 'em.

Get the bikes ready. Have to pump tires, fill water bottle, and check brakes.

Fill my trunkbag with lunch and snacks and my computer.

Apply an appropriate BPAL scent.

And away we go!

Part ways with Lady and head into the sun(rise).

Even with the sun in my face the entire way, it's still a gorgeous ride.

I ride along the Rillito river path for 5 miles, then - reluctantly - join the road.

Not too many cars this early in the morning.

Lock up my bike.

Head inside.

Drop my stuff off and take a blurry photo of the empty classroom.

Helloooo helmet hair. I do my best to tame it. This is also day three, week two of this class and I have (finally) moved on to plain t-shirts in lieu of blouses. One dude wears gym shorts every day, so I'm fairly certain no one will care.

Steal some of the hotel's (not that bad) coffee and settle into a corner.

Write for a while. Almost 1/3rd through this draft.

Class time! Group work today, which is not as boring as the previous days.

At lunchtime, I go for a walk.

It is officially autumn - not a cloud in the sky.

Random scrubland in the middle of a business park is random.

Back to class.

My face as the teacher explains something simple for the 100th time.

After a heated debate with my teammates, we read off my our answers.

We're told to pick a team name, so I teach my teammates the Russian word for cockroach.

Finally time to go!

So many more cars! And a terrifying black shadowy thing in the sky!!

So grateful to be back on the river path, even if the sun is (still) in my eyes.

My view for most of the way home. God, I just love it here.

And the final stretch. Biking home is definitely the best way to end the day.

There was a package for Lady on our doorstep. Since she's not home yet - and her birthday is tomorrow (Thursday) - I hide it. >:)

After wearing pants all day, I am more than delighted to finally change into a skirt!

Have some chips and guac and write some more.

I see Lady at the gate, so I come out to greet her.

I convince Lady to go for a walk before the sun sets.

There are so many wildflowers along the way! We had a LOT of rain this monsoon season and so everything is still super green and happy. It's basically a second spring.

Stop into TJ's for some wine.

The bats started coming out while we were inside, so when we pass by on our way home, we stop to watch. It's a little too dark to catch them properly.
