Morning temp check for Reasons. Starting to think the thermometer is broken. No way it should be that low. :/

Awake but schleepy.

Time for tea.

Time check.

Journal a bit while I drink my tea.

Kona keeps me company.

I begin writing out my weekend to-do list. Forgot to take another picture later, but it eventually gets filled up.

Put on my shoes.

And go for a run before the sun comes up.

Post run selfie. Did three miles in prep for my 5k in two weeks, which is more than I've run since, uh, January?

Time check.

Do some handstands as part of my chin-ups, lunges, push-ups challenge.

Then make coffee for Lady and go to wake her up.

Feed the

Start breakfast. Have to heap the spinach high, since it cooks down so very much.

Also start the chicken stock. I usually like to let it simmer for 24 hours, so best to get it going now.

A wild Lady appears! I quickly foist coffee on her.

Then remember that we need to change the water filter and get that started.

Finally have breakfast. Look at how tiny that spinach got!

Aaand update my habitRPG.

Cats are oddly fixated on something outside.

Shower time! I'm a wee bit stinky.

Then we both get ready to go.

Readjusting.

Time for a hike!

Just a short hike so we can see some spring blooms.

Catch sight of a coyote instead.

One of very few blooms. :( Apparently everything blooms in the city well before it does in the parks.

We still hiked on to the random stone remains for our turning point.

Fisheye selfies are the best selfies.

Then we head back.

Oh saguaros. <3 you so much.

Time check.

Stop by JoAnn's on the way home to grab so fabric to make a belt for Lady.

Lady is enthralled by some of the patterns wot say "RAWR"

Doves hanging out on our porch. There was a baby dove down below, but I didn't want to freak it out by getting too close.

Cats greet us languorously.

Lunch = bacon time, obviously.

Start the laundry while we're at it.

Remove the old sheets.

Aaand lunch! Burger with kraut and bacon, mug of chicken broth, and coconut ice cream. Because I'm starving, that's why.

I get to work on Lady's belt. When it's finished, it'll go with her navy polka dot dress to wear at my brother's wedding next week.

I get the belt cut out of the fabric, then we make the bed with clean sheets.

Then maybe (definitely) take a nap.

Wake up and continue working on the belt. Relearn basically everything about sewing that I never knew.

I made a button happen!

Harass cats.

Then we're on our way again.

This time to grab some straw.

...for the chickens.

Straw day is the most eggciting day.

The ladies will spend the rest of the evening scratching at and playing with the new straw, distributing it around the run for us.

While they're thus distracted, we take their eggs.

Home again and dinner time. Salmon & sauteed kale.

I boil some water and make a tea bath for some too-white towels we got earlier. These I'm going to decorate using fabric pens and give to my brother for his wedding. First step: dye.

Second step: vacuum. Actually, that has nothing to do with the towels. :)

Then we finally have dinner and watch some Sailor Moon.

Once the towels have soaked for an hour, I hang them outside to dry overnight.

Then I try, unsuccessfully, to slice frozen steak into jerky.

Lady does a much better job.

Meanwhile, I get my daily word count in.

Then we feed the

Brush our teeths,

And retire for the evening. G'night!
