Sep. 26th, 2013 05:10 amIt's officially autumn - we can finally open the windows in the morning! Granted, it was still hitting 100 earlier this week, but, well.
I've been devoting all my breaks to hitting my 1k/day goal, hence the LJ blackout. But I can apparently access my blog at work despite their filter (go fig), so I've put up a few posts over there: one on gaybies, one on how we built the chicken coop, one on our garden, and one on - no. I'm going to tell you about that here.
Look at what we found!!

Our chickens are laying! Or, rather more accurately, one chicken is laying! We've had three eggs since Sunday - one each day except yesterday. It's pretty exciting. I'd almost forgotten that's why we got the chickens in the first place. :P We'd both just figured it'd be a while yet and Lady wasn't even going to check, but then we noticed some of the straw had been kicked out of one of the nesting boxes and - egg!
They're tiny buggers, maybe a little more than half the size of a traditional large egg. But we ate two of them on Monday with burgers and they were grand. Hopefully more ladies will lay soon; it'd be nice to finally pay back all our helpers. :)
There are other things, but I think I'm going to try and space my posts out instead of lumping everything into one post like I usually do. :P
