Good morning, Sunday. Ah, a reasonable hour for once.

I start my day with a cat photo.

Only then do I start the coffee.

Freshen up while the coffee is brewing. Looks like I'm running out of deo!

I have been wearing this scent almost exclusively for the past two weeks.

Clothed!
Not pictured: Waking up the Lady Monster.

Catch Kona in the act of kneading her pillow.

Fill up the coffee mugs. Already switched out my happy summer mug for my spooky autumn one.

We head up the inside of our apartment complex for our walk, since the gate we normally take is broken. :(

New gate!

At least the walk is a little different.

...but for the most part it's squeezed between the two walls of the opposing complexes.

Lady poses with both mugs.

It's barely 6:30 and the sun is only JUST rising. It's officially autumn, guys!

I try my best to get a shot of the full moon, but this lens just isn't up for the task.

Instead of going all the way back up to the front gate, we squeeze through an opening. >>

We have a new neighbor! And she has cats!! She moved in while we were in Minnesota, so we haven't met her yet, but if she has cats she's obviously cool. ;)

We feed our starving cats.

And I start working on the starving us. I just started on a month's long project to work my way through every recipe in this book - the Grand Central Bakery cookbook. I really want to expand my baking and pastry skills. Today is scone day!

While I'm kneading and baking, Lady organizes the coffee/tea cabinet. It looks tons better than it did, trust me.

And while the scones bake, I write out a to-do list in true weekend tradition.

...aaand make some eggs for breakfast, because one cannot survive long on scones alone.

The scones come out and they're... eh. Lady loves them, but I find them a little too dense for my prefs. There are a number of things that could have gone wrong and next week when I make jammers I'll be able to tweak and see if I can pinpoint exactly what it was.

Another sign of autumn: our feeder is swarming with hummingbirds lately! Not pictured: three at once! Usually they fight each other off.

MOAR CAT PHOTOS (aka, Darjeeling attacking Lady's leg)

Then we're off and: time check!

I order Irish breakfast tea, which is appropriate considering the cafe is playing mostly Flogging Molly this morning.

Lady has recently discovered macchiatos.

Lora joins us after a little while and shows us her MAD MUSCLES. She's been climbing like a ninja every weekend and it's beginning to show. I'm mad jealous.

Despite ourselves we actually manage to do some writing/homework.

Then Lady and I excuse ourselves to finish up our errands. And drop by Trader Joe's.

Can you handle the TIME CHECKS?

First stop: the lab so Lady can spin something.

Streetcar construction is everywhere between the university and downtown.

...I...don't know.

SCIENCE!!

Target is next for a handful of things. And every time I walk through those doors, I'm so glad I don't work there anymore.

Obviously the most important purchase. Ever since one November I wasn't able to find candy corn ANYWHERE, I have started hoarding it once I see it. It is my NaNoWriMo ritual candy, so it's kind of important.

Home and: to-do list check!

I eat some food.

I wasn't kidding about those cat photos.

My new uke tuner! Which we picked up on the way home from Target. It's hard to practice when I can tell it's out of tune and even more frustrating to tune it by ear when my ear doesn't know what's what.
And then: A LOT OF PHOTOS WENT MISSING. I don't know what happened to them, but (alas), they have clearly gone to the great photobucket in the sky. What was lost:
Me tuning my uke. And then us COOKING ALL THE THINGS. Baking a chicken. Chopping vegetables. Cooking a casserole. Stewing a chili. A sneaky photo of coke zero. More cat photos. Raw chicken. Grating a carrot. AND MORE (PROBABLY)

The photos start back up when we take a break from all the cooking and I do a photo drop. I assume this is where I lost them - goes to show I shouldn't start uploading and editing until the next day.

The finished casserole!

The finished chicken!

...which goes into the pumpkin curry!
Then the cats start acting crazy - Darjeeling hides and Kona parks herself in front of the door - and we realize that we had heard knocking.

It's a Doug! With a bird!

And also pie! ...mmm, pie.

We partake, and then it's arts & crafts time in my office!

We're making a card!

I tackle the kitchen while they work on the details.

Much better.

I also put food in tups for Monday: casserole for breakfast & curry for lunch.

List check: I think that's almost everything!

After Doug departs, Lady keeps organizing and putting labels on jars etc.

Kona begs for pets and gets them.

I brush my teeth with one of these funny tabs Lady picked up from the Lush store while we were in MN. It tastes like roses.

Kona begs for food.

After feeding the cats and brushing the teeths and taking the showers, I close the black-out curtains in the bedroom.

And spend just a little time writing.

Before passing out.
