Gosh, that was a weekend and a couple of days, wasn't it?

I had a grand weekend, full of all the wonderful things I enjoy filling my weekend with. I went running with [livejournal.com profile] malanai on Saturday and Sunday in the beautiful autumn mornings, I went to the community crossfit with said friend and Doug (who ended up hating us and nearly puking after doing the prowlers - I hope you still love me, Doug), went and ingested frozen yogurt afterwards (and felt mildly ill - either I was just feeling ill in general that day or I may be ever-so-slightly lactose intolerant now), then did a terrible thing and went out to eat with Doug Saturday evening. Not that going out to eat with Doug is terrible, but the going out to eat part. Considering we're still paying off the kitties' spaying bill, well. No more going out to eat for us for a while. :(

Anyway. Then there was Sunday and the Doctor Who season finale (!!!). Omg. We gathered with friends and ate homemade fishsticks and omg-ed a whole bunch because WTF. I do appreciate that they solved the whole dilemma not by actually rewriting history but by skewing the facts just a bit. And the bubble/alternate universe wasn't even wholly necessary this time around (as opposed to the last season finale). Now I must find something else to fill the gaping hole in my soul for the next year. At least there is the Christmas special, but those are never as amazing as the full seasons. Aaaaah.

I also learned how to play pinochle on Sunday, which is an entirely unnecessarily complicated card game, but loads of fun. Especially when everyone is just a wee bit slaphappy.

On a not so fun front, I injured my foot on Monday. I blame it on the sprinting I was doing, but it may have just been months in developing. So my 1 kilometer/day challenge has been suspended for the time being, lest I really put some damage on my foot. :( And of course now I want to actually run, and I can't. At least I can still lift weights; hoorah barbells!

So I have an interview today with the portrait studio and a furlough day next Monday and then a four-day trip to Maryland to visit my rents. In all the seven years they have been living in that state, I have not once been there in the autumn. I am looking forward to getting my fill of gorgeous fall leaves. :)
