Thoughts on a Lunch Break, XVIV
Dec. 4th, 2013 12:36 pm- Thanksgiving was good and food-full, as evidenced by the DITL.
- We had a second Thanksgiving on Friday when we went out to see Lady's mum. It was funny, because we went out with the purpose of bringing her lots of food, then realized we hadn't really brought much. So we made her mom a GIANT batch of red beans and rice late Saturday instead.
- Lady's mum's boyfriend decided to stop dialysis before Thanksgiving. The doctor gave him 10 days. Lady really didn't want to leave her mom to have to deal with that alone, but we couldn't figure out a way for her to stay. So she's here and we're here, waiting. We thought we might go out again this weekend, but it's looking more like next weekend.
- We noticed one of our tires was cracked before we headed out to her mum's, but it didn't seem too bad. Then we noticed the crack was a biiit bigger before coming home, but still. Probably okay. Then in Yuma we noticed that it was shredding, with big cracks and wire mesh highly visible. Neither of us felt safe driving an additional 200 miles on that, so we spent some quality time at the Sears and got new tires. Apparently our suspension is also cracked and leaking, so yay. Hopefully we can get that fixed next week. :/ Hopefully it's not too much of a problem.
- Monday I worked on holiday presents (PRESENTS) and yesterday we did our cooking for the week, so I'm a little pooped. Tonight is date night, thankfully, but I still have SO MUCH TO DO.
- Mind is still full of babies. Reading ALL the books. I'm going to know entirely too much about hormones and signaling by the end of this. But signaling is cool!
