It's Summer!

And man, can you feel it here. 107 is the high for today and I'm sitting outside, stealing the free wifi and sweating like a person sitting outside in 107 degree weather. That is to say, a lot.

We celebrated the cultural start to summer last weekend with malanai and her beau and a tent and a lake and some s'mores and some egg boats. It was delicious and relaxing and possibly a little bit full of sangria before noon. I have good ideas, it's fine. The best part was the breathtaking sight of the milky way stretching far and wide and milky overhead when I stumbled, barely awake, to the restrooms at two am.

Now I'm dreading tomorrow and our decision to go run the Meet Me Downtown 5k at 7pm, when it will still be blisteringly hot. Well, this time we have a camelpac, so hopefully we won't die like we did at the Warrior Dash. I'll also - somehow - have my camera, because tomorrow is also a DITL.

Next week we're flying out to MN to tie together a bunch of wedding loose ends. And visit the baby. Because babies are cute. Oh, and family too, I guess. And Caribou.
