(no subject)

This last week has been decidedly... damp. And gorgeous. The monsoon has brought thunderstorms almost every evening. Big, drenching deluges. Thunder that rattles the window. And a breeze of wet creosote and ozone. The wash near our apartment has had at least some amount of water in it consistently. Some mornings have even been overcast. Autumn must be approaching.

And I love autumn.

Now, for a list of unrelated statuses (stati?):

Car: Working! Apparently it was the bloody battery. What the freaking hell. It registered at 12v and all the lights turned on and yet somehow it was dead. Well, either way the car now works and we are freed from the confines of our apartment. Hoorah, crossfit tomorrow!

Cats: They're at the vet right now, getting prepped for (or possibly already done with) spaying. Lady is worried that they will hate her from now on. I'm worried that something horrible will go wrong. And also feel a little guilty that they so readily went into the carrier this morning, all trusting and purring. Even though we didn't feed them, which obviously must have been because we forgot and couldn't be bothered to be reminded by their purring little faces. I also feel a little guilty about the possibility of silly photos of drugged up kittens. :P

Writing: Why didn't I ever do 1k/day before? This is awesome. I hit 50k on my WIP the other night and I'm trucking on towards a conclusion. I still haven't decided which other WIP to pick up after this one is finished and ready to ferment, but I'm leaning heavily towards going back to the Zombie Assassins. I need some levity after all the woeful sadness in my current WIP.

Work: Now that it's September, everything has really picked up. It's harder for me to fritter away time at my lappy. Which reminds me. I had better get back to work. :P
