Sep. 8th, 2011 09:27 pmDespite the sheer amount of thunderstorms we sometimes get here, I don't often see rainbows. There was a bit of a double rainbow going on with this one, but I (and the camera) could only catch the one.
Our car has inexplicably stopped working. We got up well before the crack of dawn, got our gym clothes on, and were all ready to go to crossfit for the first time in almost a week and then the car wouldn't start. It just cackled happily, the engine making a delightful grinding noise as it tried to turn over, but nothing else happening. The internet says it could be the fuel pump or any number of wiring issues. Either way, not something I can ghetto rig into working order. A dead battery I can deal with. Heck, even an alternator. But wiring? Not so much.
So we are carless at least until Monday, which is when our fave mechanic can fit us in. Funny how I was just thinking about making sure we had an emergency car repair fund on hand. Hmm. And how I just fixed my bike. Too bad I still need a socket wrench to get that peddle crank on tight.
Hooray for nearby Trader Joe's. Otherwise we'd likely starve over the weekend.
In other news, whole30 diet is over and I feel like a fat blob. :( Stupid bread.
But! The writing 1k a day is going very well. I thought I would have run into some sort of snag by now, but apparently 1k is right around the easy mark for me. Some days I've been well over and some days I've just inched past, but every time I've been able to make it. And the draft zero of SC is creaking along happily, if perhaps a little NaNo-flavored. I'm getting really close to finishing up this draft, which will be awesome. I'm already looking forward to when I can sit down with it and outline and reorder and hash together a proper story arc.
Anyway. Writing! And books! <3
