Grumpy.

Well, not so much anymore. But I tried to put as much grump as possible into today's photo since today was so full of fail. We attempted to go to Mt. Rainier today and hike up to Spray Falls, possibly Spray Park, but were thwarted by quite a deluge. Usually rain here is drizzle and rarely enough to soak and in Seattle when we were leaving this morning this was indeed the case. Then it began to clear up a little, the rain stopped, the clouds parted to the west, and we figured there wouldn't even be any rain by the time we got there. But at the entrance to the park, it began to drizzle again, and by the time we got to the trail-head, it was raining.

We tried anyway. Tried and failed. The initial dash into the woods left us both soaked and shivering, but we forged on since the drive took over two hours. We only lasted fifteen minutes or so before realizing that if we kept going, we'd likely get hypothermia. So we turned back and drove the two hours home and as we left the mountains behind, the sky cleared again. It was sunny by the time we got back.

But that's not the end of this tale of grump. Oh no. To reach true levels of grumpiness, I accidentally took a 3 hour nap and woke up dehydrated and headachey. That's when there was the real grump.

There are two more photos of the actual "hike" at my flickr page.
