Sep. 29th, 2008 06:02 amBoth lady and I are coming down with something, since we both have nasty sore throats. I just hope that if it's going to need meds, it let's me know before wednesday, because that's when my insurance runs out.
Which means it's almost October. Hot damn. What happened to September?
I promised myself I'd finish this story by October, and I'm pretty close - just one chapter left - but I don't think I'll quite get it. I've become such a slow writer. x.X Hopefully NaNo will kickstart my mad skillz again.
After the first part of September, when we were still running about trying to get everything done on the weekends, we've started taking it a bit slower. I think our major plan for this weekend was simply "groceries." Mm, and we have so much vegetables, still. Very pleasing. I even made tabbouleh with the parsley we'd gotten the last time and hummus earlier in the day.
So many exciting domestic things. I really have become boring.
Aside from planning for NaNo, October is the month of applying to college, so I need to seriously get my grove on with Plato so that Shaw won't think I'm a ninny. How far -are- you guys at this point? I think I am seriously behind. Or maybe I should be asking, when do you expect to finish the Ion and move onto Hermes?
On the work front, I went to their little orientation and found out I won't be getting any of the benefits for a while yet. ._. I expected as much, but it's still sad knowing I don't get health care until January. But at least when January rolls around, I can go straight to the dentist. Woot. No vacation days, either, until a year from now, when I expect to be in school again, and no sick days handed to me for six months, although I start to get two hours every two weeks. I'll just have to take time off without getting paid, but I'm used to that; they just don't seem very keen on it. At least I've been kept busy the last week, with new responsibilities as well as all these things we've had to do for that California law. Which came into effect beginning of Sept and our clients -still- don't have a clue what they're doing about it. Oy.
Anyway.
Who else is planning on doing NaNo this year? And yes, trying to write a certain number of pages for thesis counts. xp
