In which our heroine returns after a long hiatus to show off her new job, her new haircut, and her new wolverines. Hint: One of these things is not true. Warnings: Blurry cat photos, office environments, and an HPT with a TFP.

Mornin'.

Make coffee. Yes, I know. 4am is absurd, even for me. Upstairs neighbors like to have a dance party around this time and I don't feel like trying to go back to sleep for only 40min.

My lovely wife left little notes around the house for me to find. ;.; She's the best.

Harass the cat on the way back to check something in the bathroom.

Proceed to spend about 10min staring at this and trying to decide if I'm seeing things.

Not trusting myself, I take this question to the lovely TTC community and ask on my blog. I proceed to spend the rest of the day in a confused/bewildered/hopeful daze.

I mark off the day before on my writing calendar - I've only missed two days this month!

I wake up Dr Lady by sitting and staring at her, then asking if she can doublecheck something for me. Eventually, she figures out what I mean and then we both stare at the HPT stick. Then she gets dressed and emerges into the world.

It's still a little early, but we don't know what to do with ourselves, so we get dressed.

Update our happy things.

I write out the things I'm looking forward to today.

It's finally time to head out!

To our box! It's been a while since I've had a DITL and Crossfit. :)

We huddle together in the cold and read the workout. Not too bad today. Pull-up work and an 8min AMRAP.

I go light because I've had a cold all week.

Home again: time check.

So we feed them.

Start food for ourselves. Not pictured: inhaling said food.

Shower, because my hair has to be nice and clean today.

Harass cat.

Use a straightener to both dry and help keep my hair from curling funny.

There. Cute as I'm going to get.

Put on our shoes and head out.

Somehow, I always find myself working on the top floor.

My office digs. They got me a stand-up desk! They really love me. I work for a little company that makes web-trainings for non-profits and government. Aside from the customer service aspect, it's pretty different from anything I've ever done before. So far, I like it.
I spend the next few hours drinking tea and futzing with a training.

Morning mountains.

Head out for a (really) early lunch because I have an appt.

...for a haircut! Funnily enough, I've been growing my hair for a year and a half because I wasn't going to get it cut until we succeeded with TTC. Just the day before, I decided to go ahead and stop waiting and got an appointment for today. Good timing or best timing?

Return to office. Afternoon mountains.

Eat lunch, then eat leftover breakfast. This is a breakfast pumpkin custard with whole cranberries baked in. So good.

Proceed to try to make the longest afternoon in the world go by a little faster. I mess with trainings, support questions, and listen to podcasts.

FINALLY TIME TO LEAVE. I go pick up Dr Lady from Science and we switch places because I am 100% exhausted and don't want to drive.

Home. Time check.

Put robes in dryer for a few minutes. Take them out. Warm bliss.

We make tacos for dinner.

I cut those TJ chocolate caramels into little pieces so I don't inhale the whole box.

We cuddle and watch the Great British Baking Show like the old lesbians we are.

Darjeeling insists on watching too.

I try to take a photo of Kona and this happens. I think it really captures her essence. :P

Brush the teeth.

Read a smidge and go to sleep. G'night!

Date: 2016-01-30 03:10 pm (UTC)I love DitL posts but...OMG that is a line! Congrats!!!!! And the haircut is totally gorgeous and eerily-timed but mostly I'm still all "aaaah she's pregnant, wee" . Way to ambush your readers. ;)
Seriously, though, I'm so chuffed for you and Dr. Lady.

Date: 2016-01-31 12:56 pm (UTC)I've moved the text out of the cut so now it's above. I wanted to make sure there was some kind of warning for other TTCers so they don't get blindsided because I know how awful that can be. Thank you for the head's up!

Date: 2016-02-01 11:52 am (UTC)2) Do you work in an instructional design field? That's what I do! E-learning and web training design (and some instructor led stuff, occasionally)
3) Still so happy for you both!

Date: 2016-02-01 12:30 pm (UTC)2) Kind of? Technically, it's a PR company, but their definition of PR is very... broad. We build web trainings from content that our clients have provided, which is weirdly fun.
3) :D
