Mornin'.
Start the coffee and time-check.

Write a morning page while waiting for the coffee to brew. This is a new thing I'm trying - not quite journaling, just a way to wake my brain up without jumping onto the computer first thing.

Coffee done and page written, then I jump online. I write a blog entry and finally email a local farm asking about volunteering opportunities.

A wild Dr Lady awakens!
I have some breakfast.
Kona is OBSESSED with that red ribbon. It used to be thrice as long, but she keeps chewing it up.

It's September. Close enough to autumn.

Pack up lunch and a snack for the day, along with my assortment of pills. I made gf oreo-like cookies on Sunday and they are delish.

Feed my sourdough starter.

Finish packing up.

To the lab!

I grab a free study room and write for a while.

Then we change into our workout clothes and head out again.

To the box! Because it's a holiday, there's only one workout today, at 9am. It's... well, it was a partner workout as follows:
800m run with 35# barbell (carried with partner)
50 partner deadlifts
50 burpees
50 ground-to-overhead
800m run with barbell
I was so wiped afterwards I didn't even think about taking a photo until we got to the car.

Dr Lady was also wiped.

My hands were pretty ragged after, too.

I'm exhausted and dizzy, so I drop Dr Lady off at lab and then head home instead of going to the library.

Whey protein to the rescue!

Also a shower because so sweaty ick.

Make a pot of tea.

Put on work clothes.

Do work.

Break for a lunch of chili, brie & sourdough, and some reading.

Still really tired - having trouble sleeping lately - so I make a shot of espresso, too.

Head back out!

Stop by the garden.

Since we're (probably) going to be moving within a few months, we're winding down our garden. All we really have right now is okra.

But boy do we have okra.

To the lab!

Pick up Dr Lady. She tells me about a tiny adorable bat she saw in the stairwell.

Camera phone time! I drive us to the mall up north.

To watch a movie!! We rarely go to the theater, but I was looking at movies and pricing on a lark and noticed they'd dropped the ticket price significantly. We could actually afford to see a movie, so we did. A Walk in the Woods was ridiculous and fun.

We stop and sniff candles on our way out of the mall.

Home again.

Taco salad for dinner. So good.

I go into my office to write, but end up picking up my uke instead.

Feeling social, I write on the sofa instead.

Feed the beast. Yes, it's regular flour. I'm experimenting a little - when we were in France this June, eating French baguettes, I didn't have any problems, so I'm trying to figure out why. Was it the sourdough? Was it because it was fresh? Idk, but I want to find a way to eat bread, dammit. :)

The chicken broth that has been simmering all day is finally done. Time to sift it.

(Almost) finished chicken broth. It has to chill first, so that fat layer can be scraped off before using.

Read some more, than it's time for bed. Good night!
