A relatively chill Sunday DITL in southern Arizona.

I wake up at the usual time and make coffee.

My bedhead isn't nearly as amazing as it used to be, tho.

Make some butter coffee.

The secret is in the emulsion. Otherwise you get a mouthful of slick fat and ew.

Yessss

Light a candle for ambiance.

Open the windows because it's relatively cool out.

Take some time to journal and write a to-do list.

Then I put on my running shoes and go for a run.

Oh god sweaty face. It's still incredibly humid. But it's a dry heat!

Time check. Also time to wake the Lady.

Write out my weights for our imminent lifting session.

Lady does the same.

Feed the cats a few minutes early because we're not cruel.

God, it's gorgeous.

IDK what's going on here, but I'm pretty sure the clouds are winning.

Gym time! I'm too lazy to bring in my camera today, but you've seen enough lifting photos I'm sure.

Stop for groceries on the way home.

And pick up our meat CSA share.

Groceries!

Boil some water for my baking soda shampoo.

Put away groceries, too, I guess.

Make and eat breakfast. Kombucha + sauteed greens + cheese + duck eggs.

Darj' comes for a visit.

Then I wash some greens.

Aaand take a shower.

...for BPAL autumn scents, that is. I wait all year long for this, btw.

Onwards!

Time check.

Garden check. Goodness, look at the size of that okra!

We have sproutlings! Hopefully soon they will grow into big kales and beets.

While we're at the garden, it very suddenly starts to rain. While the sun is shining. And here I thought I'd left sun showers behind in Florida.

We drop by Target, then indulge in some bagels and pumpkin spice coffee because what the hell. BTW, Bruegger's pumpkin spice coffee is some of the best flavored coffee I've ever had.

We work for a little bit, Lady on her stuff, me on my writing.

Then we officially start the cooking. Er. Chopping.

Lady makes plum sauce for

the lamb.

I call mom, but she doesn't answer. ;.;

Finished cabbage slaw. So good.

Lady chops beets.

I make meatballs.

and coconut fudge.

Requires some special blender attention. Also wtf belly, why you keep showing up in photos? :/ Well, at least I'm trying to lose weight.

Finished coconut fudge. Is delish and VERY filling. A little inch chunk goes a loooong way.

Clean the kitchen and wash dishes for the nth time.

Mom calls back while Lady is napping.

I make chocolate chip cookies to wake Lady up.

Seasonally appropriate cat is seasonally appropriate.

I go work on my French. I discovered Duolingo recently and so far it seems pretty good, if, perhaps, a little silly.

Have another gratuitous cat photo.

We head out again; time check.

First to check chickens. It's still pretty hot, so Lady waters their roof.

Meanwhile, I dig for grubs. The chickens really appreciate all my hard work.

Ladies.

After, we head to a new theater that was showing free movies for the weekend as a sort of dry run before they officially opened. We saw Up. I cried. Twice.
