Lady gets back tonight - she's been away all week. The first days are always hardest while I get used to the silence again. Also while my brain catastrophizes the shit out of everything. Thankfully, cats.

So I got my first stitches this week! Nothing exciting, just from a biopsy. I'm sure I've had worse cuts/wounds (from cats), but they didn't want it to scar. Anyway, I've had this weird rash thing for almost a year now and figured I should probably get it checked out. Or rather, I mentioned it when I went to the dr and she hooked me up with a dermatologist. Nobody has any idea wtf it is, so flesh was taken and sent away to be lab'ed. I'll know in a week - or two? Not worried, since it obviously hasn't killed me yet, just curious.

But stitches! I get to take the bandage thing off today. Kinda excited to see what they look like. >>

Writing is going sweet. I set myself a 1k/day goal back at the beginning of September and I have been nailing it. The first few days it was a little like pulling nails to get those daily edits/rewrites out, but now I'm usually done by the time lunch is over. Just need to keep the momentum going.

We went back to Crossfit last week for the first time in... months. Actually, aside from the hypertrophy class, since before our Wall trip. I should be there now, but I a) needed to put a crockpot dinner together because food in fridge = 0, b) don't want to bother the bandage, and c) really didn't have anything put together to be ready to go this morning since I went to a movie with [livejournal.com profile] pennywhistle last night. :3

But! Our first day back, we practiced handstands, and I FINALLY got one. I was so excite, I did a couple more. And now I keep having the urge to go into one. But man! gymnastics =/ my forte. But at least I got one thing down. Which is good, because now that the class is no longer an intro class, I'm waaaay behind everyone else and pretty much last in the workouts. x.X I am way slow.

One last thing: OMG OMG OMG. Work sent out an email (prob just to me) about the whole DOMA thing saying the IRS has decided to base your marriage-ness on where your license was issued and NOT where you currently reside (their present policy, btw) which means we can be legally married elsewhere, live in assbackwards AZ, and still file joint on our federal taxes. Likewise, our county will treat us the same way.

We just... need to have an actual license. Damn. We got married last year in MN and of course as of last August MN now allows gay marriage. I keep thinking, if we'd waited a year... but we couldn't have known. It doesn't diminish how married we feel at all, it's just more of a hassle at this point. :P

Speaking of which, our anniversary is next weekend. I think we're going to Wilcox with some friends to pick apples and drink wine and stare at the stars. Appropriate. :)
