september-14

september-2
Oh no! I'm up way too late. :( I was supposed to be up at 5 so I could have my coffee and go running and clean the kitchen and and and -

september-3
Oh well. I'll just take a shower.

september-4

september-7
And feed the sharks cats too, I guess.

september-8
Okay. Coffee. Coffee will make everything better.

september-9
And sleepy Ladies.

september-11
Have breakfast. Leftover cheese and bread from last night's birthday picnic.

september-12
Search for recipes for the week and start making a grocery list.

september-13
Then realize - oh yeah! - it's September! Time to change the calendar.

september-16
After breakfast, we get ourselves dressed and head out. Lady has all the compost.

september-17
Time check.

september-18
First stop: Trader Joe's parking lot.

september-20
We walk over to the farmer's market to pick up our CSA meat share. This week it's ground beef and steak. Mmm. Steak.

september-21
Passing under the bridge on our way back to TJ's. Must've rained last night.

september-22
The skies are clear, though, and that shade of blue that just screams September. The humidity is starting to clear up, too. Mmm, almost autumn!

september-23
We grab a few things from TJ's and I cross them off the list.

september-24
Then we stop by the garden to check on things and drop off compost.

september-25
Even since just last week, it's grown a lot!

september-27
The watermelon has flowers!! I'm so excited!!

september-28
And then I spot this and I'm even more excited, if possible.

september-29
We spend some time trying to rein in the squash plant. It really wants to escape.

september-30
Go amaranth, go!

september-31
More blooms! More more!

september-33
I grab a handful of basil for cooking today and take a moment to understand why gardeners love their gardens so much.

september-34
We grab the rest of our groceries from Sproutflower and head home.

september-35

september-36
Time check.

september-37
Put away the groceries. Nothing quite like going from an empty fridge to a full fridge.

september-38
We head out again almost immediately. Lady grabs the trellis for the peas before she forgets again.

september-42
Then we head to the gym.

september-40
We work on finding our 1RM for bench and clean. I finally break into 100 for the bench, but can't get past 115 for my clean. Later this week we'll try and find our 1RM for squat and deadlift, but not today.

september-44
Stop by home, greeted by cats.

september-47
We make a little lunch. Smoothies for everyone!

september-49

september-50
Might as well do some laundry, too.

september-51

september-52
Then head out again and time check.

september-53
This time: chickens!

september-55
We grab Crosby and give her beak a little trim. Don't really know how short to go, though. Need to remember to bring a bright light next time so we can see the quick.

september-61
We do coop chores - fill water, food, clean sand box, etc - and leave the girls happy, if a bit hot.

september-64
Onwards!

september-66
To Doug's! Due to fates and miscommunication and lack of cell phone reception, she didn't get any tiramisu the night before, so we bring her some.

september-67
She finds it acceptable.

september-69
She plays us some tunes on her bass & fiddle.

september-71
Lady and I both attempt to play her fiddle. Sound happens, but not music.

september-72
We try to help her pack for a camping trip, but mostly get in her way. :)

september-73
On our way home, we stop by the garden again. >>

september-74
To add the trellis and prune the squash.

september-75
And to pluck our First Garden Product.

september-77
Check the mail when we get home. Nothing good. :(

september-78
Time check and - oh dear, everything is so cluttered.

september-79
Ignore the problem. Have some more bread and cheese.

september-80
Lady starts cutting up some veggies.

september-81
I start cleaning and we put on our new favortist podcast ever to listen to.

september-82
At this point, wine.

september-83
Clean! So clean.

september-85
Saute some of that squash + veggies for dinner because at this point I've mostly just eaten bread and cheese and really, really need some vegetables.

september-86
Lady also preps the zucchini noodles.

september-87
And Kona sits in her New Favorite Box.

september-89
I clean the jars I got for my birthday. So. Many. Jars. <3

september-90
Have dinner.

september-91
[livejournal.com profile] pennywhistle arrives and Lady shows off her garden bounty.

september-93
Then we watch the end of live action Sailor Moon. What will we watch next?!

september-95
I try to have some kefir for 2nd dinner, but end up spilling it all over the counter. No fear! Five hour rule!

september-97
[livejournal.com profile] pennywhistle leaves us for the evening and I start editing the photos I took Saturday.

september-98
Also throw the chicken in a brine before I forget. We were going to cook it today, but, well...

september-100
It's not shark cat feeding time yet, but I'm sleepy.

september-102
Lady reads for a bit, but I just conch out. G'night!

LOVE the grin on Sarah's face as she's holding the squash at the garden :-)
