The Wedding

This pretty much takes up where my last post left off. We wrote our vows in the sun outside, and then went in to get ready. The photographer showed up shortly thereafter. Then we encouraged people to take whatever they wanted; it worked, for we only had a handful left at the end of the night.

We printed out 120 (or was it 150?) photos from our time together, showcasing our friends & family and the places we had been and the adventures we had had.

...and makeup, too.

Leave it up to the photographer to notice Lady had hearts on her shoes. :)

Family on the way out to the ceremony area.

Dad being... dad.

Lady's uncle volunteered to be our officiant, which was super awesome 'cause he also happens to be a real life judge.

We'd debated a little about who would go first - it just seemed more natural to walk together.

Ring-warming! A fine tradition we stole from

...we might have had a quote from John Scalzi embedded in our ceremony... :)

We had each of our parents read a little something.

...then vows.

I might have choked up more than a bit on the last part of my vows.

(yes, those are sheep encroaching in the background)

Possibly my favoritest photo ever. :)

All the cupcakes were made the day before in Lady's sister's kitchen.

...they seemed to go over all right.

My brother couldn't make it due to Navy training, so we called him and got a "family" portrait.

We started off the dancing with a clumsy waltz.

Then we headed off the first contra dance - which everyone joined! I'm still so happy about that. Our caller even remarked to us afterwards that this was the very first time he had ever had 100% participation, and he was astounded.

My 2nd cousin kept asking people to dance with her well after everyone was pooped out. :) I think we have a convert!

Our last dance had us hugging everyone.

And then someone told us to do burpees, and that's how we finished up our night. :)

also, barbara's dress is gorgeous. i mean, yours are too, but that's one of the prettiest dresses i've ever seen, which probably sounds creepy.
