Typical Tuesday morning, making coffee before the sun.

Checking email while the coffee brews.

Hear a noise and find this terrible monster under the table.

Get rudimentarily dressed. Can you tell I didn't go to bed early enough the night before? Not pictured: waking up Lady.

Coffeeeeee.

Entryway is a mess. So I scoop cat litter and clean it up.

Kona is very helpful.

Re-check on Lady, find she's crawled back into bed. Can't blame her, but it is time to get up.

How she feels about being awake.

While she gets her coffee, I load up my iShuffle with a new audiobook.

And start ripping the one I'll listen to after that.

Then we go for a short walk. Darker and darker - soon it'll be too dark for morning walks. :(

The sun rises all at once on our way back and I can finally snap a state of the wash. Actual water! It's been raining a lot lately and everything is super green and alive.

Our walk was shorter than usual 'cause we promised the caterer we'd call. Lady susses out details - like table arrangements and linen colors - while I cook us breakfast.

We got dill from our CSA share so our newest fave food is scrambled eggs with dill. Surprisingly amazing. And I don't really care for scrambled eggs.

Cats demand sustenance.

Lady demands sustenance.

Necessary things are done to teeth, hair, face.

This one smells like a light rain in a flowering garden, which is appropriate considering just how very much rain we've been getting lately.

The putting together of the lunch tupperwares.

Today, I am apparently so skilled that I insulted my reflection.

Finish putting together lunch and...

...clean the kitchen.

It's also a day for a new book, so I select one from my growing unread pile. I go for something I picked up on a lark - a murder mystery, a genre I almost never read.

Time to walk to the bus stop - Lady has swapped bike for bus for a while.

So green.

Lady steals the shade at the stop.

Bus actually got me here on time today! The university is just starting up so lately the bus has been a lot more sporadic than usual.

Check my calendar and cross off yesterday. Ten days until caaaaaaaaake!

Check my sticky that's been accumulating problem files I didn't want to deal with for the past three days. Deal with them.

Super hungry this morning. Not pictured: all the almonds, raisins, and melon I already ate.

Break time.

Internet's been sketchy lately but I get on long enough to look at linen colors. I never thought I'd have to look at linen colors when I signed up for this wedding.

Tea time when I get back. A delicious prickly pear that I got at the farmer's market.

Lunch break. I'm super grumpy by now because my spot in the basement was foiled by a group taking a test and it's hot out and I only have 30 minutes and there's people and they keep walking right up behind me and there's a car alarm going off through my entire break and whine whine whine.

Check on the clouds when I get back upstairs. Hmm. Looks promising.

Eat lunch (because why eat lunch on your lunch break?). Mustard chicken + salad + eggplant tomato bake.

I spend most of the afternoon struggling to remember basic high school geometry. We're finally getting trained in something new, if by trained you mean watch a short video and fill out a workbook that has little to do with said video. :/

The windows darken and we all flit over to see why. Rain, that's why.

It looks like Seattle out there! Which is unfortunate, because it's time for me to leave and go stand and wait for the bus.

It's slowed to a drizzle by the time I get to the bus. Have to stand way back to avoid from getting splashed. Not pictured: my bus. Because it's 20 minutes late.

An hour and a half later, the very, very late bus deposits us and we walk home. The wash is alive with water.

The sun is almost down by the time we make it home. Check the mail on weary principle.

And glad we did! Getting an RSVP in the mail perks us both up. As do the cute stickers.

Time check - the bus normally gets us home at 6. :/

Too hungry to care, we turn around to drive to TJ's, only to find a Doug pulling into the parking lot. We dive into her car and force her to drive us to TJ's. This is what we buy when we're tired, hungry, and stressed.

Doug joins us in our nomming. That salmon is gone in no time.

Then we chill with wine and ukulele.

Meet my new uke, Maleficent. Got her over the weekend as an early bday present from Lady.

Uke's are so easy to play, even a Kona can do it!

The conversation somehow became about our Scottish clans and Lady had to look hers up. Apparently, hers and mine were fast friends.

Realize it's well past cat fooding time. The uke tends to quiet their yowling. Feed cats.

Doug may have had a little too much wine. Or is just very sleepy.

Apparently just sleepy. Wakes up enough to give us a hug and goes.

My toothbrush has a starring role in this DITL.

And bed. Why is it I always seem to stay up well past bedtime on DITL days??
