spryng | Annular Eclipse

Went out to watch the eclipse on a lark - I'd thought it wouldn't actually be visible here because we were too far south, but a quick google search about a half hour before it started proved me wrong. So we went. And I took the camera. It was excellent - reminded me of whenever that was in elementary school when the last eclipse happened and we all made little pinhole boxes and hoped. Except I don't think the eclipse actually extended to FL - or it was cloudy or some other reason - and we never actually saw it.

This weekend was lush - slept in Saturday morning instead of going for a run, but we migrated to a coffee place and wedding planned like woah. Then we toured the mall and the thrift shops with

the_verb until we were all too pooped to stand. I finally found a decent, simple, light-weight and versatile dress, though, and got the haircut I've been pining after for, well, years and years.

Yeah: pixie-cut! I'm still getting used to it, but I desperately wanted something really, really short to stay out of my way, but short in my head equals dyke cut, and ever since mom asked me if I was going to get my hair cut like that after I came out - well. I've had a bit of a complex. I think I still do. But I'm going to rock this like nobody's business - I got a handful of hair clips and some headbands and I also went and made up some homemade hair spray to keep it all in place. Wow, for once I might actually take some time and do something with my hair instead of combing and going.

Anyway, need to go write before it gets too late. The revision is going, slowly, but going. Someday I'll be done, but for now, it's day by day, page by page.
