It's official: I just got through booking that barn as our venue, next year, Sept 21. Hoorah!

Yes, it's a Friday. Yes, that's a bit inconvenient for in-towners, but out-of-towners will have to travel anyway, so I may as well help them out by making them fly on Thursday, which is a cheaper day for tickets, amirite? Then you get all of Saturday to recover from the dancing and the crazy and Sunday to fly home on.

That and all the Saturdays from Sept - Nov were already booked for next year. :(

Gosh, that barn looks gorgeous.

Now that we have a date and a venue, the shit really gets real. I need to start making some calls to family members and gently letting them know about this, then pin down a photog and figure out exactly how casual we want this thing. Also, STDs. I have no idea when to send them. A year in advance seems kind of insane, but six months would be too little notice for most of my family, some of whom may already be planning their vacations next fall (coughgrandmumcough). And electronic vs paper? Who knows!

Man, if only congress would go ahead and overturn DOMA. That would make explaining the why to family-members so much easier, because they are going to ask why, because that's what they're like. I wonder how many from my family will show up? I wonder if there will be any surprising no-shows. Hmm.

Anyway. Enough about wedding.

I went a bit manic this weekend and not only cleaned the apt, but also organized the shoe closet, the pantry, and the closet-closet. I think I should've held out until my b-day and my now annual ritual of re-arranging furniture, because I have neither anymore furniture to re-arrange nor spaces to organize. Hmm. Well, the pots and pans are looking disheveled... ^-~
