The thing about this week in March is that everything ever is being celebrated. We got your pi day, we got your Ides, we got your St. Patrick's and even my bro's birthday. But poor March 16th, left all celebratory-less. Although I am certain this day is someone's birthday - whose, I don't know - it feels kind of sad and empty here all alone. So if you can rid me of my ignorance and let me know what March 16th is or should be celebrating, let me know. We should make it a thing. Maybe we could celebrate the Bacchanalia, which supposedly took place March 16-17. Or maybe there's some obscure science that happened this day. Let me know! We can propagate this shit.

Speaking of propagating, you should really send a few bucks this ways to sponsor Penny in the NAMI walk. Although I'll can't say I'm not trying to help out a friend, this is actually quite a personal request on my part. Mental illness is a part of a large number of people's lives. Hell, I bet I could even say it affects all of us somehow. Mental illness can be lived with and it can be crippling, sometimes simultaneously. And having all that stigma out there, having those people out there that think that depression/anxiety/paranoia/et cetera is something you can just "get over," is not helping. Partially that's their own arrogance/stupidity, for which we can't do anything but shun them. And partially that's ignorance, for which we can do something.

Like speak out. Anyone who's read this LJ for a bit knows that I've had my own issues. Perhaps you even know my mother is a therapist. I have met a lot of people and I have had and have quite a handful of friends, and a high percentage of those friends and people I've known have had or have mental health problems. And they've gotten shit for it.

And on that note, I love you. <3
