Doing a really bad job exercising, but it just got so cold. :< No excuse, though. Bah.

Fancy dinner tonight! I like having this in the middle of the week. Gives us something to look forward to.

Day 15 - Your favorite Tumblrs
Well, since I don't use Tumblr, nor really know what its purpose is (seems like a watered down LJ-community), I'm going to go with my favorite blogs, instead.

You can probably guess my top favorite blog, since I've linked to him a bit recently. Whatever by Scalzi is just that: whatever is on his mind. But it tends to be sci-fi/fantasy/written word-related and also wittily written, so it is right up my alley. He has a feature called the Big Idea, which is from where I've almost exclusively been finding my books-to-read, Among Others being the most recent and delicious.

My second favorite blog is Patrick Rothfuss', because it is also a treat and full of beard. Unfortunately, because he decided to go and be all productive, the last few months have been pretty light in the post department. But hopefully once Wise Man's Fear is out, he can start goofing off again.

Third is Jessica Claire's blog, who has also gotten rather quiet of late. She is a brill photographer whose photos I go back to again and again for inspiration. If I could photograph weddings half as well as her I'd be set.

Fourth, but not least, is the Strobist, which taught me everything I know about off-camera lighting as well as a myriad of other camera tricks. Awesome stuff. If you want to learn cameras, go there.

I want to include Get Rich Slowly in this list, but they've been rather... off lately. I don't know if it's the myriad of comments from people making 100k+ passing judgments on those struggling or just that the posts are rather boring and keep hitting the same point, but I don't bother reading most days. Granted, they have a lot of good stuff in their archives and tons of information on investing, saving, etc which I never got in school or through my family, and it's motivated both me and Lady to new, frugal heights, but there's only so much you can keep saying the same thing.

Anyway, what are your favorite blogs? I'm looking to expand my reading ranks now that I have so much extra time on my hands. :D

I feel exactly the same way about GRS. It used to be a blog by a geeky guy motivated to get out of debt, who had a significant amount of privilege (Cushy job at a family company). but he did get rich rather quickly, ironically, so now the blog is really judgy and unhelpful. I kinda want to make my own personal finance group blog for REAL people of our generation, the kind with no $30k comic book habits, the kind with good degrees and no jobs.

Interested?
