Work is picking up a little - the first few days I was oh so very bored, but I s'pose that's just how it is when you're still learning the ropes and no one wants to trust you with anything. ;) Although I must admit being fascinated with the idea of having hours of downtime in which to write. Tja.

Funny story about the above snake. Doug and I were out in the cactus forest, at the foot of the Rincons, when we stumbled upon this gorgeous rock formation. Doug, being the monkey she is, had to climb it, even in her red dress. So as she was climbing, I went up on the side to take photos, and she mentioned how there were all these cracks by her where little animals could be. So I took a gander in the rocks near me, saw the above critter jammed as far into his crag as he could go, and pronounced, "hey! A snake!"

Doug nearly fell off the rock. She thought I meant near her. After she realized that I wasn't referring to her imminent peril, we had a good few minutes oohing and aahing over this poor snake. And getting a photo. Of course.

Day 08 - A moment you felt the most satisfied with your life
Wow. I've actually had quite a number of these in the past few years. Many at New College, many more in Seattle, but the most recent was driving home from work at Target, the sun setting and casting the Santa Catalina mountain range in a variety of purples, pinks, reds and oranges. Breathtaking is not a strong enough word. It made me realize again how good I have it, living in this strangely gorgeous city with a roof over my head, a job, friends, and a wonderful fiancee. Getting to see sights like that every day only made it that much sweeter.

Amy, this snake is suuuuper cute.
I want to move out west because I hear people like me don't have allergy problems out there (dry, dry, dry). Is that true?

Anyway, glad to know all is going so well with you. Tell Sarah I say hi. Also, I have an intimate request: what's your nanowrimo about? If you decide to hand out copies, I'd like one ;) -Jen

Somebody mentioned to me something about that allergy thing. I haven't really noticed, because I don't have allergies, but Lady hasn't been having any problems. There definitely isn't an issue with year-round pollen, mildew, or grass debris, at least. So I imagine it must not be bad. You can definitely visit and find out. :D We have a couch.

NaNo! Um, well, my last one was about a guy who can hear electricity and some problems with witches. It's not very well defined, plot-wise, and needs a lot of work before I start handing out copies, but I'll keep you in mind. I definitely need some beta readers who are willing to tear my stuff apart and make me cry. :D It's all urban fantasy at the moment, though, if you can stomach that.
