It's official: my entire family now knows I'm gay. I'm pretty sure most of them suspected it when I moved to AZ with no reason other than "well, Lady's going to grad school there..."

Last one to officially know was my g-mum, who was congratulatory on the matter of the engagement. I guess nothing like getting a ring to out yourself, then.

No one's given me any crap, even the super conservative part of the family, which is a bit surprising, but well, I'll hold my tongue on that one until actually seeing them. Everyone else is just peachy about it, and although now I might wonder what I thought the big deal might be, it probably helps that Lady has been a part of the conversation for the last three/four years, so at least the more perceptive should have figured it out on their own.

In short: after six years of being out to everyone except my family, it's a bit of a relief and I probably shouldn't have worried so much about it. I don't have to fret about my wording around them or about the pictures I post to flickr.

So in super short: Yay.

In long: Yay yay.
