NaNoReadMo

So first off, I still have a ton-shit of photos to process from Thursday's venture into the desert. Hopefully I can finish that Tuesday when I have a bit more time, because work has devoured the rest of my time. Om nom nom. Which makes me way-the-fuck-behind in NaNo, but oh well.

Second off, and most important-like, NaNoReadMo now has a bit of a website, albeit on a blog.

Go check it out!

And then let me know if there's any extra info I can put on there. It's a bit sparse still, because I've only had a few hours of time to put into it, but I hope to spruce it up in bits and spurts between now and December. Going to do a photoshoot with Lady and some books sometime this week to at least help the graphic side of it.

I rather quickly found all four of my books for NaNoReadMo. I wanted to go a bit across the board, so I have:
Leviathan, by Scott Westerfield - a steampunky type novel set around WWI
Territory by Emma Bull - Bull is a local author writing about local things, or well, about a fantastical version of the O.K. Corral shootout. This one intrigued me partially because it is a local author writing about the desert and Arizona, but also because it's a fantastical western. I mean. Really.
Arctic Explorations and the search for Sir John Franklin by Elisha Kent Kane - This is kind of a "I have no idea but it sounds like it should be very interesting" sort of book.
and
Death Rides a Chestnut Mare by Ralph Compton - A pure western suggested by one of Lady's friends in answer to my FB request

So it's four things that are pretty much out there from what I usually read (okay, maybe Leviathan isn't that far out). It should prove for an interesting month. :)

Anyone else have an idea of what they want to read for NaNoReadMo yet? No pressure, I just get excited early. :D

I'm excited about it.
I know I definitely want to read Jonathan Franzen's new novel, and this really good Stendhal novel I was supposed to read for class, The Charterhouse of Parma. But I'm not sure yet and life feels so hopeless at this point in the semester I may change my mind...i think this idea is so awesome though.
