So tomorrow is a desert photo workshop with Kyle Cassidy ([livejournal.com profile] kylecassidy), and for some reason it made me realize that I have been consistently posting photos to this LJ for a good solid year now. Although I gave up on the 365 in the spring of last year, I bet if I went back and counted all the photos I thought fit for putting out on flickr and/or LJ, I would easily have had 365. So yay for that!

Also, I've noticed I've been a bit negative as of late. Things are actually quite good. Just today I was reminded of my number 2 reason to love Tucson (number one being the consistently gorgeous sunsets, number three being the still-comical saguaros), when lady and I went for a walk and came to the Campbell bridge just in time for BATS. It was magical, and refreshing. Especially 'cause just earlier in the day I accidentally played Owl City's Hello Seattle and was hit with a fresh wave of homesickness.

In other goodness, I have a job (even if it's retail, even if the hours are wonky, it's still a job and I do actually enjoy it [at least the bike-building bit]), NaNoWriMo is going well (so far - don't want to jinx it this early), I have a jar of candy corn right next to me, I'll be getting my first actual paycheck for the first time in, um, four months, picnicking will probably happen again soon, the weather is pretty fantastic in the mornings, and - I don't recall whether or not I'd mentioned this yet, but - I can drink coffee again. Yeah. In fact, fuck yeah. Sure, it means that the ever present blanket of clouds and rain in Seattle was mostly to blame for my anxiety and that I have more of the same to look forward to if (when!) we ever go back, but it's also nice to be normal again. And oh god coffee. How I missed you.

Okay, back to NaNo for a bit. Riding this high while I can, before the story tanks into inevitable mediocracy around 15k...
