My Lady can sometimes be a very sneaky lady. We'd been planning a canoe trip + picnic for Sunday all week and I thought that was all it was. So when we woke up to clouds and fog I wasn't too disappointed and when I couldn't sleep at all Saturday night due to the Tucson oozing disease I just figured I could stumble through the morning and hopefully sleep in the afternoon.
We made our picnic foods - pita pockets with cream cheese and cucumber and radishes and pasta salad and iced earl grey limeade - dropped by the farmer's market where we picked up some lettuce and cherries before being overwhelmed by the crowds, and then drove over to the UW water rec center, all the time wondering if it'd be too cold and cloudy. We got there and decided to go for it.
And I'm glad we did - there were ducks and low bridges and baby ducks and big scary boats and at one point there was a baby duck heading our way and Lady steered us straight into a tree to avoid it. Then we were both tuckering out so we maneuvered our way onto a floating dock and had some of our pita and pasta salad. Then Lady said, "hey, remember that time I said 'we should be domestic partners!' and then I got scared?" and I said "yeah" and she said "well" and stuck her hand in her pocket and pulled out a ring and asked, "how about this time for real?"
I didn't say yes - at first - but I didn't say no. Really, I didn't say anything except mumble a lot and then shove my head in her neck and then finally take it. :DDD
Then she revealed that she had been planning it for several weeks and had even shipped it to a coworker so a box wouldn't mysteriously appear in our mail box and pique my interest.
In short: Squee!
