This may have been more appropriate during this weekend, but seeing as how we'll be in a cabin without internet access, it would also have not been possible. Besides, I wanted to see if bokeh-shaping actually was so simple. All I did was cute a little heart out of a piece of thick paper and put that over the lens. Going to have to try that with other shapes.
In other news (although all I really want to do is effuse about anniversary-ness and love), I am going to AZ with Lady come February's beginning. She is being flown out for an interview at a grad school in Tucson and originally I was going to go, then I wasn't going to go, and now I'm actually going. I'm super excited. I've never been to AZ and it'll be a chance to assess one of our possible future residences. Also, I get to visit
the_verb! And see her and probably discuss wedding-ness because I will be her wedding photographer come next December. Sweeeeeet.
But yeah. I don't think I've mentioned it here yet, but Lady got her official denial from UW, which means we are not staying in Seattle. Although not unexpected - UW has, obviously, denied her twice already - it is still a sad thing. Unlike Florida, we both really and truly love it here. Sure, our jobs suck and we both wish we had something more, but if we'd stayed, I would still have continued my photography and writing pursuits and she would have had grad school to bring her further.
So that leaves us in limbo - we know we can't stay, but we don't yet know where we're going. It's an interesting state to be in. And so far, we've only heard from AZ and UW - one embracing, with paid ticket to the interview, the other outright dismissal. What will the others say? What will we do if it comes down to between AZ and, say, Michigan? We'll drop everything for Oregon State - that we want to stay in the NW is pretty much taken for granted - but what about Ohio? Lady thinks she'll be hearing from most of them within the next few weeks, so I'll keep you posted.
*The water mark on the photo was designed by Sara and Andrew, and I am so incredibly floored and grateful. <3!
