Happiness, suggested by Lady's sister, Andrea. This shouldn't have took as much thought as it did, especially considering the result, but, well. Lady was my first instinct, but that's too obvious. I'll probably add her to this anyway, just because she does bring so much joy. But for a greater part of my life, happiness has been a warm beverage - previously coffee - and writing. The notebook I'm "writing" in is actually somewhat significant - it's a notebook I bought in Russia and in which I wrote my first short story (longer than two pages, at least). It took me several weeks and I wrote it in that notebook since I hadn't brought my computer with me. I took that notebook to class and I took it to the cemetery and I would stay up late at night with a soda and my cd player and write until my hand cramped. I think that finally proved to me that I couldn't not write, that writing was something I have to do, because frankly, I hate writing on paper. But I did it anyway and although the story itself is crap, it was a wonderful process.

As for the tea, like I said, beverages have always been a part of my writing process. Now it's tea, since coffee gives me anxiety, but before it was coffee, and before that it was endless cans of diet soda.

Even the pen has a story behind it, albeit one slightly more silly. It's one of the pens dad would bring home from work which were fairly ubiquitous in my youth but now are harder to find. My brother and I would take them apart during church service and then fit them back together so that they became miniature projectile launchers. I haven't found a pen that can do that since.

The pen story made me laugh ;-D

By the way, speaking of pens, did you get that small package I sent?
