Not posting very much. Mostly feel lost in life. Can't decide what I want to do, feel obligated to pick something, so this results in stagnation. So many choices - too many choices - and all of them are exclusive and require significant effort. Obviously, it's easier to stagnate.
Meme from FB. Mostly because I need to write something mindlessly (like an LJ post) and I still feel odd posting stuff to FB.
How long have you been together?
Three years as of January
How long did you know each other before you started dating?
A year? I knew her vaguely since the beginning of first year, but didn't really become friends with her until spring semester/fall of the following year.
Who asked who out?
It wasn't so much an asking out as a "hey, I like you." And it was her. By the Bay. On a windy, windy night.
Whose siblings do you see the most?
Her sister, easily. I was at her wedding and we stayed the night there on the way to WA and she came and visited shortly after our arrival. My brother, however, I've seen once in the last year. Before that, it might've been my brother, because we slept on his floor once or twice.
Do you have any children together?
Can we say 'impossible'?
What about pets?
We had gerbils and an angry, angry bird named Zoot for a bit, but not since we moved. I want to get a hypoallergenic cat eventually...
Did you go to the same school?
Yes.
Who is the most sensitive?
I think she is. She's very perceptive, just doesn't wear her emotions on her sleeve as much as I do.
Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Hmm. I think we've spaced it out pretty evenly. Pre WA it was probably either Taco Bell or Perkins. Now... there's so much good food that we don't really settle on one for long. Pho, maybe?
Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
St. Petersburg, Russia, to Sarasota, FL. Long-ass and fun trip.
Who has the craziest exes?
Neither of us have a crazy ex. We have exes, just not crazy. Silly, yes. Endearing, yes. Crazy, not so much.
Who has the worst temper?
Mm... hmm. I can get angry, but Lady can get grumpy. I think she wins.
Who is more social?
Definitely me. I am a social butterfly in comparison to Lady and any of my family knows this means a lot. o.o
Who is the neat freak?
Do I even need to answer that?
Who is the most stubborn?
We have our days. In general, I'm usually more stubborn, but when Lady sets her mind to something she is really not going to persuaded. Usually 'cause she does this whole thinking things through thing.
Who hogs the bed?
Neither of us, really. Even when we shared a twin bed.
Who wakes up earlier?
Considering I am Lady's alarm clock... well. Weekdays I get up between 5 and 5:30, waking up Lady usually ten to fifteen minutes later. Weekends... between 5:30 and 8, and I try to get Lady up before 8, since apparently 8 is grumpy time.
Where was your first date?
Perkins was the first official one, I think. Oh, Perkins.
Who has the bigger family?
I think we're pretty even. I might lead with my myriad of cousins, but only barely.
Do you get flowers often?
No. I used to surprise her with flowers every once in a while, but now being carless and never home before her, it's much harder. ^^() Besides, hot cocoa is a much better surprise. And tastier than flowers.
How long did it take to get serious?
Hmm. Well. There was a month or two of waffling about actually getting together, then after that it wasn't really serious, serious (depending on how you term "serious" - I'm going with "figuring we'll probably stay together for quite a long while barring alien invasion or something equally drastic") until we started living together that summer and realized it was very hard for one of us to be without the other.
Who eats more?
I eat more, in that I tend to graze throughout the day, but Lady can tuck more away in one meal.
Who sings better?
Me...? Dunno, since getting Lady to sing is like getting my brother to admit he's ever been wrong.
Who does the laundry?
We switch. It gets done whenever the basket gets full and by whomever is near and thinking about it at the time.
Who’s better with the computer?
Me, just not with Macs.
Who drives when you are together?
Lady, mostly because it's her car and I never really figured out how to park in that space of hers.
Who picks where you go to dinner?
Whoever is craving to go out. Oftentimes me, since I'm the one to suggest going out first.
Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?
Me, probably. Usually 'cause I'm wrong more often. Or all the time. See the bit about Lady actually thinking about things before saying/doing them.
Who wears the pants in the relationship?
Literally, Lady does. Figuratively... we switch off.
Who has more tattoos?
I think we're fairly even.
Who eats more sweets?
Lady craves them more, but I think I eat more in general.
Well. That was diversionary.
A few more weeks and we'll be going down to Sarasota. And a week or so after that my self-imposed deadline to finish GOU edits. Then after that... well. A new project, perhaps? I don't know. I want something new and something that feels less weighty, a story that won't need to be of epic proportions so that I can actually finish it and polish it, but I can't decide. So, help, please. Which of these sounds more appealing?:
- A postal worker faces a fabricated Armageddon complete with holographic zombies and a gun named Chekhov
- An android named Andy joins a group of glorified bounty hunters who operate out of the back of a grocery store
- A hobby wizard calls up ancient forces to protect his daughter from demons, but also to make sure she comes home on time
Hm... well, obviously the first will be much sillier than the others, and the third would be more of a NaNo adventure since beyond characters I haven't got much of a plot. Basically a reworking of OIBM. The second is based on a short story I wrote while in Russia which in turn was based on a very strange and vivid dream. None of these would be much longer than 50k. Woot, novellas!
