spryng: (books)
We got home at midnight to our cozy warm apartment and frantically starving cats (we had someone watching them, they just had to *gasp* survive a few hours past their normal food time) to find out that while we were flying across the country, the seller had accepted our offer.

So. Barring a bad inspection and Murphy's Law, looks like we're buying a house!

It's the grandma house, which I should probably elaborate on. Honestly, it's just a bit blah inside, with outdated fixtures and doors and cabinets and that pink kitchen countertop. But those are all things that are super easy to fix and make it easier for us to inject a little of our own personality into the house. It just means I get to spend the next forever on pinterest, trying to narrow down paint colors, cabinet treatments, and backsplashes.

The next thing we get to wait for is our official closing date, which looks (right now) like it'll be just a day or two after we arrive in Michigan. That would be wonderful on so many levels. Here's hoping.
