Recovering
Oct. 5th, 2015 11:49 amI went to Crossfit Wednesday and Friday last week and it was death. This morning was not much better. But it *was* better, and I'm holding onto that. It's weird because my strength seems mostly okay - I was able to deadlift my previous PR on Wednesday, for example - but my endurance is absolute crap. I would normally finish the workout first or second in our class of ten, and now I'm finishing dead last. And that's after dropping the weights and picking movements that are easier for me.
I'm still easily fatigued and having a hard time remembering to eat, which means my blood pressure is low which means every time I stand up I black out. Not fun.
But I'm trying to keep in mind that it's only been a week since finishing the antibiotics and I'll probably need another week (or even two) to really get back to normal. Recovery always takes a lot longer than I expect (see: want) it to.
On the plus side, I have a potential job prospect, the windows are open and it's almost noon, and it just started raining. Autumn is (finally) in the air and we're supposed to see some cooler weather over the next week. Which: AMEN because we started October off with 100+ degrees.
I'm writing (slowly) and am aiming to have this draft zero done by November. I'm suffering a little from the need for immediate perfection, since once this novel is finished, my agent will want to see it, which means it better be GOOD, dammit. Unfortunately, that is seriously limiting my ability to be creative and play with the concepts. I'm aiming to hit a daily wordcount this month, though, so I'm hoping I can push through that. We'll see.
