Jun. 19th, 2014 03:22 pmHome sick. Picked up a cold in MN that started as a sore throat Saturday and has progressed to sneezing, sniffling, coughing, and general lethargy. I went to work but around lunch time couldn't stand the idea of not being in bed any longer, so I went home. Score one for biking to work: I can leave whenever I want. On the flip side, I had to bike home while feeling out of it.
So far, this cold has been a kind one. Mostly I just feel like someone slipped fuzziness between me and everything else, like all of my senses are subtly muted. It's, ah, oddly comfortable. If you ignore the inability to sleep for more than 90 minutes at a time.
Finished GW. It will go out to betas on Sunday. I just want to glance over one or two parts I wrote new in the last week to make sure the tense is correct and it flows. Still feeling confident that this is a much better story than the previous draft, but not sure if that's quite good enough.
DPO 10 is tomorrow, aka the earliest I can expect to get a positive if I started testing. There's a lot of good reasons to wait until DPO 14 and/or your expected period start date, but I have a ton of these cheap-ass pee-sticks and little to no patience. I'm excited, but also carefully calm. I don't want to get too hopeful, but I also don't want to harbor too much pessimism. Striking a balance between the two has been interesting, but doable.
Ok, I should try to sleep. Wish me luck.
