Jan. 5th, 2014 05:48 amI've been spending my mornings away from the computer this last week, which has been working well for starting the day at least somewhat productive. But this morning I needed to find recipes and make a grocery list, so here we are.
Although I didn't technically start the AIP until last Wednesday, because we do all our cooking on Sunday, I've actually been doing it for a week now. First thoughts? Holy fuck. I knew this was restrictive, but damn. Second thoughts? Doing the Whole30 prepared me well. I knew I'd have to put a lot of thought into it and make sure I always had food available. And even with that mindset, I still found we were short on food this week. Damn, we eat a lot sometimes.
We're also used to making all our own food and not eating out, so it's not nearly as bad as it could be. The roughest spots were mostly in the first few days, as I weaned entirely from coffee. Thankfully, I was already down to just one cup, but I still got headaches. That coupled with the bubbly from New Year's Eve gave me a nasty Wednesday, tho. Oh and the lack of sleep from staying up late. Basically I started my new year on the useless side of things. :3 But it's improved. I'm definitely past the coffee withdrawal now. Not caffeine - I can still have tea. Thank god.
Only three more weeks. I got this.
Things seem to be improving? It's hard to tell, because the rash varies so much on its own on a day to day basis. But the biopsy scar on my waist is definitely darker than the rash around it now, so here's to crossing my fingers. Otherwise I feel almost exactly like I usually do on a Whole30, so at least if there is a food prob, it's just skin related.
I'm still detailing my AIP fun over at Speck of Awesome, if you're interested in the daily wot-I-eat type posts.
