Thoughts on a Lunch Break III
Sep. 10th, 2012 12:42 pm- NEW SEASON DOCTOR WHO OMG OMG OMG
- I made the most vanilla cupcakes yesterday and I mean that in a good way. Now I know that the recipe I intend to use for the wedding that claims it makes one dozen cupcakes actually makes twenty. Pretty significant difference there.
- I pretty much plunged off the Whole30 into terrible eating. Cake, cake, burgers, cake, wine, pizza, cake... granted, some of that was birthday weekend, but it definitely carried over into all of last week. I'm trying to rein it in, and fast, because I already feel bloated and nasty. :(
- I have not written in over a week and I am getting itchy - to the point where I'm even considering doing NaNo this year, although I had all but sworn it off completely after last year. My rear mind is a-bubble with terrible plots and characters and I want to have another go at a bunch of short stories - just maybe not a short story a day. That was way too hard.
- It will be really nice to step back from all the details of the wedding and just let it happen.
- That said, OMG DETAILS. We spent all weekend cutting, pasting, writing, stamping - and I feel like we got so much done, and yet we still have so much left to do. Good thing there's still one solid weekend left?
- My brother apparently just got off the boat he's been on for the past, ah, eight months. Hoorah! But still not going to make it to the party. :<
- The weather is slowly changing, slowly shifting towards autumn. The last few mornings we've had thunderstorms and it's been cooler, steadily cooler, with a soft touch of that fall crispness.
- I want to write a big long post in response to Romney's "are you better now than you were four years ago?" But I don't feel like being political. I suppose it doesn't have to be political. But it would be.
- I can see October on the horizon, filled with pumpkins and apples and cooler mornings and leaves and everything I love about autumn, but it's still so far away.
