Framing Things

Oh, hi there. I seem to have gotten caught up in things again. This time the scrambling over reading a manuscript that was already offered representation by someone else. Sadly we passed on it, but not without me first spending the last few days reading it, finishing reading it, then agonizing over how much I liked it but didn't love it. That was an illuminating experience, and I'm just glad it appears to have found a home with another agent. Avast.

Also holy shit I love this gig. I'm continually astounded at my luck at not only stumbling upon it, but having a job concurrently that gives me so much free time. Whenever my luck runs out, which will likely be within a few months the way it's going, things are going to be absolutely up to my neck in awful. But for now, wee! Makes getting cussed out by constituents all that much less terrifying!

Somehow also kind of staying on track with the revisions, too. I'm about two days behind schedule, but I've got a furlough day coming up that I am totally going to take advantage of.

Doesn't help that my total page count went from 88 to begin with to 101.. whoops.

Currently reading the Habitation of the Blessed and it is delicious. It's the kind of book that not just has a neat plot and a neat structure, but it's very words are nectar to my soul.

Gosh, I love books.
