spryng: (dork)
It's been snowing since 3pm yesterday. It's still snowing. I think it's supposed to snow all day. It was eerie last night (and, well, this morning too) - I went for a walk in it at 7pm. The sun went down at 5pm. But it was so light, due to all the snow. Feels like it never really got dark, which is funny, considering today is the shortest day of the year.

Speaking of which...

Happy Solstice!

Now, finally, the sun will start coming back. Days will no longer get any shorter. Soon I won't be walking home in the dark.

I am so not looking forward to trying to get to work tomorrow. Friday I just missed one bus and had to wait half an hour in 15 degree weather for another bus. Or, well, three at once. More people were at work Friday, despite icier roads. And coming home was fun - after three stops our bus stopped picking people up. It was packed and people were being really nasty about it. Bah. So not looking forward to that tomorrow, because I bet they haven't recovered their fleet yet and there will be at least half a foot of snow on the ground.

Oh, and, a bus was hanging over I-5 on Friday. Dad said it made national news. Impressive.

Presents are wrapped, the tree is still not dead, it's looking like a white Christmas, we have firewood for a Solstice fire tonight, and eggnog, and many many blankets, and my headache has been gone for a week along with the panic, so things are good. Gonna go for a walk in the snow in a bit and take pictures. It looks delicious.
