Well you know what they say about real friends...movers are really your friends here! Don't compromise your health and safety! IDK, even if I were sick I couldn't flake on helping a pregnant person and her injured wife move, I'd like, personally round up people myself. That's execrable. I am mad on your behalf. I mean, I still offer to help my friends move because moving is hell. To be honest I think once you're in your 30s, it's a tiny bit of an adulting fail to be to poor or cheap to hire movers... I'd help my friends but these days it's usually, like, showing up and managing or helping unpack or wrangling pets. I got a free Angie's List subscription through my insurance, there are good recs for movers on there and Groupon-like deals, maybe you can line up someone ahead of time.
