Thursday (Thanksgiving!), November 26, 2015 DITL

Mornin'.

Cat insists on being in the bathroom with me, then insists on leaving.

Take temp. Yes, still doing this.

Time check and COFFEE.

Turn on the happy lights.

Internet for a while. It's Finance Thursday, so mostly I take care of bills. Blugh.

Leftover pizza for breakfast! A time-honored tradition.

Done with internet (for now), I decide to read.

Darjeeling decides to help.

A wild Lady appears!

While she wakes up, I try to make the kitchen less of a mess.

Feed the

Better.

Much better.

Lady and I get dressed.

Stand in line to pick up our numbers.

In just an hour, I'll be crossing that line and feeling much better about my life choices. Especially considering all of the food that will be happening later. :)

Post race! Lady obviously has a lot more practice mugging for the camera. Neither of us beat any PRs, but it was fun and we got to jump over hay bales and water obstacles, so win.

On our way back home, we stop by the hotel where my MIL is staying to see if she needs a ride/pick up some wine. In the parking lot, there is a literal swarm of pigeons. Thankfully, we didn't stumble into the Birds and we make it out alive.

In the lobby, waiting for her mother.

She needs more time to wake up, so we head home. "Greeted" by cats.

Tidy up real fast.

Clean and in appropriate cooking clothes.

Lady makes sweet potato casserole.

I start the pie crust process.

A wild mother appears!

We make sure she has coffee. Her flight got her in at 2am this morning. x.x

Kona is promoted to manager. She's a natural.

It's naptime for everyone!

Except me. I make cranberry sauce and listen to the Hamilton soundtrack.

Chop the marshmallows we made earlier in the week for the sweet potato casserole.

Then it's time to head out, somehow transporting all the foods and things to the car.

Almost everything!

Then it all gets magically transported to our friend's kitchen.

First things first: turkey needs to go in the oven asap.

Looking for more pie pans so I can get started rolling out my dough.

Somebody else has been busy making pies already.

Giving moral support.

I make the bourbon pecan pie filling. Maybe have a little bourbon myself.

Help with stuffing the mushrooms.

Turkey's done!

We also have real Virginian ham! Sharon is super excited.

Friends arrive on time and we begin getting the last things together.

Lady carves the turkey like a turkey-carving master.

The Spread.

People get their food and we all sit outside around the fire and it's kind of magical.

Then it's back inside for pie! Also for lying on the floor and making incoherent noises.

Lady drive us back home. I'm more than a little loopy from exhaustion.

I say good night to the cats from the floor.

G'night!
