Mornin'.

Rehydrate while sitting on the futon of the Air BnB we're staying at.

There's a telly so I turn it on and then remember why I don't watch telly: constant. ads.

I'm hungry so I eat something less than pretty: a sausage and some bread with cheese.

Go brush my teeth. No coffee = grumpy face.

Wake up Dr Lady so we can do get coffee.

Select from our small but significant shoe collection.

Still no coffee, but a little more cute.

On our way out. Our apt/room is located in a basement.

COFFEE.

We both do some work for a little bit.

Pumpkins!

Head back after a little while.

Wash greens.

Make (& eat) breakfast.

Head back out.

We decided to eschew renting a car in favor of taking the bus. Parking is difficult to find and traffic can get pretty intense, so even though it sometimes took a while to get one place from another, the bus was less stressful and more fun.

Do a little bit of walking from our stop.

Our destination! Hello Fremont market!

Browse the underground part first, because they also have a bathroom. The Fremont market is more of an arts and found fair than a farmer's market. It's very eclectic.

We were specifically looking for these bags, since Dr Lady is in the market for a new purse. But alas, nothing grabbed her attention this time - no owls. :<

We take a break from all the people to sit by the water for a bit, enjoying the brief glimpse of sunlight and watching the fall foliage.

I can finally wear my kneesocks, so I am seasonally appropriate.

Wander Fremont for a little while, then head back to the bus.

Stop off in Wallingford so Dr Lady can get her picture taken beneath a very appropriate sign (it was her 30th birthday weekend, which is why we visited Seattle).

And also acquire important baked goods.

Back on the bus, back up the hill.

Our precious loot. From top left, clockwise: vanilla chocolate, triple chocolate, graham cracker s'mores, and caramel apple.

We eat cupcakes and look at sperm donors. Fun!

Turn on the space heater, because it's starting to get chilly.

Okay and nap, sure.

When I wake up, I take a hot shower because I'm SO COLD.

Get dressed. It's humid here, too, which I missed kind of a lot.

Make some tea, because I figure Dr Lady will also be chilly.

Wash some dishes while those steep.

Teeeeeaaa. Now I remember why I drank so much of it when we lived here.

While putting on my shoes, I discover one has a hole innit. Thankfully, there are at least five shoe stores within spittin distance.

I'm the easiest customer - they find the same exact shoes, just in a more recent model, and I am pleased.

Freshly shod, we go for a walk.

We hit up an old haunt. Chocolati, home of the most delicious hot chocolate. We used to walk here every Sunday. So good.

The barista (chocolista?) is ridiculous and giving everyone sprinkles. I talk him into making me a sea turtle - a regular turtle (caramel & pecan) with a dash of salt - and it is DELISH. And way too sweet. But mostly DELISH.

It starts spitting as we walk around Green Lake.

Take shelter when it actually starts raining.

When it lets up a little, we head away from the lake and up the hill towards Phinney. Find a tiny library, too. Cute!

Our ultimate destination.

I was really excited about these, but they're nowhere as good as I remember. I wonder if it's because I can't have the special, super spicy ones anymore. ;.;

We walk back around Green Lake. It's dark, but the clouds give a bit of ambient light.

Stop in at the local grocery store (which is more expensive than Whole Foods - how??) because we need beer (and breakfast for the next day) after walking three plus miles in the rain and cold.

On the way back to the apt - I always loved how the branches would look like rings behind a streetlight and/or moon.

If I were going for a drowned rat look...

The beer is very welcome. That pumpkin stout is amazing - like drinking pumpkin bread. Omg.

Turn up the heat, warm up the toes. Cuddle and drink beer and research donors some more.

Brush teeth.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed. G'night!
