;.; I have a contract and everything! ;.;

I blurred out the agency name since they haven't officially announced it yet and legally, I'm not actually on their team until they get the contract back. But! I will let you guys know as soon as I can, inasmuch as you derive any importance from exactly which agent and agency I'm with.

I heard back from the other agent who had my MS and decided to go forward with the one who contacted me first for a variety of reasons. So I emailed her and accepted, then spent about an hour cleaning up my author blog (KA Doore) and sprucing up my twitter (@KA_Doore).

So... wow. I think it's finally starting to sink in. I had an epiphany yesterday when I realized that this is the beginning of my career. Even my dad seemed to finally take my writing seriously when I called and let him and mom know - he asked if I was going to continue trying to find another job or just write. Like it was a legit option.

I'm still looking for a part-time job, of course, because right now we need the extra income and nothing is guaranteed, and debut author advances are piddly, but to just realize that this truly means I may never have to work in a cube farm again just...

I'm going to do everything in my power to make this career work and be mine.

Thank you ;.; It's like, one of the biggest steps to becoming a legit writer. There are still potential pitfalls, but being agented counts for way too much.
