Wake up and put the kettle on.

Remove the walnuts that have been soaking overnight from the nuker.

Let said nuts drain.

Measure out tea. French Caramel Brulee is the BEST TEA FLAVOR EVER.

Water boils! Pour it.

While it steeps, I go take a shower. Before.

After.

Tea is ready, so I eat a banana and write in my journal.

Kona checks out what I'm doing.

Done with journaling, I get online to check on a recipe.

I also go ahead and call mum. I'm a multi-tasker.

Ingredients wot make granola.

Mixed granola! It'll bake at 170 for the rest of the day.

Still on the phone with mum, I wash the greens.

...and feed the cats.

...and make some bone/chicken broth.

Lady awakens! And helps with the dishes.

I get a bug up my butt and decide it's time to try and clean the dishwasher.

Then we try to get ready, but Kona begs for attention.

Kona's become a wee bit obsessed with the outdoors lately. Makes getting the bikes out

We bike the 2 minutes to the farmer's market.

I don't know who half these people are anymore, but we pick up our meat CSA.

Once home, we start getting ready to go again. This time, chickens. Since one of our ladies died in June, we've started giving them ice and electrolytes every day.

I grab a chicken for my daily selfie for

Our scruffy ladies. <3 It's almost been a full year!

Chicken doesn't appreciate it when we stick our hand under her butt to grab the eggs.

Swing by the garden on the way home.

Our massive tomato plant. It's coming out next week because it's no longer producing and, well, I can't eat tomatoes anyway.

This okra plant. <3 This. Okra. Plant. <3

We begin trimming back some of the tomato monstrosity.

One of our teensy watermelons. They're taking so long to mature. ;;.;;

But hopefully we'll have some sunflower seeds to harvest soon.

SO MANY TOMATOES

When we get home (I take my shirt off) we put a pheromone collar on Kona. Hence the white dust. We were originally going to put it on Darj', but we figured it would be more fair to put it on Kona and try to curb some of her aggression. She's just been fighting a lot with Darj' lately. :/

In preparation for making a cake, I clean the kitchen. Before.

Nicely cleaned dishwasher.

I pause in my cleaning to put on these cute foot things Lady recently brought back from San Diego.

SO CLEAN

A wild Lora arrives, tempting by the promise of cake! She brings Lady a sprouted sweet potato, which makes her day.

Lady takes off the sprouts so they can begin forming roots.

I start a pot of espresso.

For some reason, Lora clips Kona's nails.

I set out the cake ingredients and get to work.

Realizing I haven't had lunch, I have a snack.

Kona looks pretty awesome with her new collar (and a time check [it's only noon?!]).

While the cake bakes, I

While the cake cools, I get Lady and Lora to chop chocolate for me.

Then I use that chocolate to make a glaze, which we pour over the cake.

Portion out some slices.

Eat some cake.

Or, you know, take a picture of it.

My second lunch is a hot dog. I'm also in the middle of reading a tome of a book for research purposes.

Darjeeling exemplifies my nap time.

When I get up, Lady is preparing prickly pears.

I cook some cauliflower rice for dinner.

Heat up some leftover curry.

And also help burn off some of those prickels.

Then I plate the curry and rice and take some pictures, because I've been meaning to post the recipe to my blog for a while. It's nightshade-free curry, which is both difficult and awesome.

Lora helps clean up, then takes her leave because she hasn't slept in days.

Lady and I watch Sailor Moon Crystal. It is both good and weirdly animated.

Then, in lieu of a hike because we're both a wee bit tired, we go for a walk.

Hi cows!

Talk about a microburst.

We stop by the bridge to see bats, but there are only stragglers.

Come back home (time check!) & check on the granola.

I offload photos so I can post my daily selfie. :)

We brush our teeths.

Read our books and go to bed. G'night!
